About Kristina Groves
Kristina Groves is a Canadian speed skater born on December 4, 1976, in Ottawa, Canada. She is a four-time Olympic medalist, having won three silvers and one bronze in Turin in 2006 and Vancouver in 2010.
Prior to her fame as a speed skater, she graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in kinesiology. Notably, she won the gold medal in the 3000-meter speedskating event at the Nagano Olympics in 2008.
Groves hails from a Norwegian family where speed skating was an integral part of her upbringing.
