About Koto Okubo
Koto Okubo (December 24, 1897 – January 12, 2013) was a Japanese supercentenarian who became the oldest living woman and the second oldest living person at the time of her death. Born in Tokyo, Japan, she later settled in Kawasaki, Kanagawa prefecture. In late 2011, after Chiyono Hasegawa passed away, Okubo earned the title of oldest living Asian woman. In her later years, she lived in a nursing facility where her son was also a resident.
