About Kody Keplinger
Kody Keplinger is an American novelist, born on August 8, 1991 in Owensboro, Kentucky. She is most recognized for her young adult novel “The DUFF” (Designated Ugly Fat Friend), which was listed as a YALSA Top Ten Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers and Romantic Times Top Pick. Other notable works include “Shut Out,” “A Midsummer’s Nightmare,” and “Lying Out Loud.”
Keplinger wrote her debut novel, The DUFF, during her senior year of high school. In addition to her novels, she has also published a digital short story collection titled “Secrets & Lies” and a middle grade novel called “The Swift Boys & Me.” Keplinger is known for co-founding Disability in Kid Lit.
Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, Keplinger currently resides in New York City where she teaches writing workshops. She shares her home with her German Shepherd named Corey and a cat named Bettie.
