About Kirsten Tibballs
Kirsten Tibballs is a pastry chef and chocolatier, known as the Queen of Chocolate on Masterchef Australia. Born on January 5, 1973 in Melbourne, Australia, she gained recognition for representing her country at the World Pastry Team Championships in Las Vegas and winning several competitions. Before gaining fame, Tibballs completed her apprenticeship at a patisserie in Mornington and worked as a commis pastry chef at Sheraton Towers Hotel when she was 20.
Two years later, she won the National Australian Baking Scholarship Award which allowed her to study under top pastry chefs in Brussels and Paris. She has also published two cooking books and released an app called Mix n’ Make in 2017 that lets users create unique pastry recipes and print out their own recipe book.
She is married to Michael Tibballs and together they have one son named Charlie.
