About Kim Willoughby
Kim Willoughby, born on November 7, 1980 in Louisiana, is a notable volleyball player. She achieved success as an indoor volleyball athlete and captained the United States women’s volleyball team to a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Prior to her international success, she was a standout player at the University of Hawaii and was named NCAA National Player of the Year in 2003.
Before making waves in collegiate and professional volleyball, Willoughby won three consecutive Louisiana state volleyball titles at Assumption High School and earned the title of Louisiana Player of the Year for both her junior and senior seasons.
Notably, she received recognition as Best Receiver while playing for Colussi Sirio Perugia in the CEV Indesit Champions League during the 2008-09 season.
Willoughby has faced personal challenges as well; her mother Lula Willoughby was involved in a near-fatal car accident during Kim’s junior year.
