About Kim Severson
Kim Severson is a journalist and correspondent, best known for her written contributions to The New York Times. Born on September 12, 1961 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, she has won four James Beard awards for covering the nation’s food culture.
Prior to her work at The New York Times, Severson began her career as a writer and journalist for The Anchorage Daily News in Alaska. She subsequently spent six years at the San Francisco Chronicle before joining The New York Times in 2004 as the Southern Bureau Chief.
In 2018, she was part of the Pulitzer Prize-winning team recognized for public service reporting on workplace sexual harassment issues. Severson continues to make significant contributions to journalism while being raised and born in Eau Claire.
