Kim Addonizio (born July 31, 1954) is an American poet and fiction writer known for her contributions to the literary world. She has published ten collections of poetry and three novels, with one of her most renowned works being the poem “What Do Women Want.” Before gaining widespread recognition in the literary community, Addonizio taught at San Francisco State University and Goddard College.
Addonizio’s talent and dedication have been recognized through prestigious awards such as two National Endowment for the Arts fellowships and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her early life began in Maryland, where she was born, before later starting a family herself by giving birth to a daughter named Aya.
