About Kiira Korpi
Kiira Korpi is a Finnish figure skater who’s been collecting trophies since she was a kid! At five years old, she began skating and eventually won the junior national title twice. She then went on to become a five-time champion of the Finnish National Championships from 2009 to 2015. On top of that, she’s also taken home multiple medals from the European Figure Skating Championships. In 2006 and 2010, Kiira proudly represented her country in the Winter Olympics. In her native Finland, people have lovingly nicknamed her Jaaprinsessa (Ice Princess), thanks to her physical resemblance to movie star and former Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly. Her dad Rauno Korpi coached the Finnish national women’s hockey team for some time too – so it looks like sporting talent runs in their family! Kiira isn’t alone either; fellow Finn Laura Lepisto has also won several National Championship titles in figure skating.
