About Kelly Lange
Kelly Lange, born on December 4th, 1937 in New York City, is an American journalist known for being the first female nightly news anchor in Los Angeles. She also notably co-hosted the Tournament of Roses parade and later pursued a career as a mystery novel writer.
Prior to her success, Lange initially moved to the west coast with aspirations of becoming a school teacher but found herself embarking on a journalism career after winning a radio giveaway that offered her the opportunity to report traffic and weather from above.
During her time as part of KNBC-TV’s nightly news team, she received numerous Emmy Awards for her contributions. After establishing herself professionally, she relocated from New York City to Los Angeles in the mid-1960s.
