About Kelly Jenrette
Kelly Jenrette (born September 12, 1978) is an American TV actress hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. She is best known for her role as Annie in the Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, which earned her an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in 2018.
Jenrette has also portrayed Annelise Wilkinson in the comedy series Grandfathered and appeared in the 2020 season of the anthology series Manhunt: Deadly Games.
Before her rise to fame, she graduated from Georgia State University and got her first big acting break with a role in a Kaiser Permanente live production. Jenrette also performed a play about HIV/AIDS awareness at various high schools.
In addition to her television work, she served as a voice actor for the animated series Frisky Dingo and made appearances on other shows such as Happy Endings, Fuller House, Mixed-ish and All American: Homecoming where she played Amara Patterson.
Jenrette grew up as one of six children and is married to actor Melvin Jackson Jr. In 2018, they made history by becoming the first African-American married couple to be nominated for an Emmy award in the same year.
