Kelly Ayotte is a Republican politician and former United States Senator from New Hampshire, born on June 27, 1968. She became the youngest of the 20 female Senators in office when she entered the Senate in 2011. Before her political career, Ayotte graduated from Pennsylvania State University and Villanova University School of Law before working as a law clerk for the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
In 2004, following the resignation of Peter Heed, Governor Benson appointed her to be New Hampshire’s first female attorney general. Ayotte has two children with her husband Joseph.
