About Katie Toupin
Katie Toupin, born on December 11, 1989 in New Albany, Indiana, is a folk singer and keyboardist known for her work with the Americana band Houndmouth. The band released their debut studio album “From the Hills Below the City” on iTunes in June 2013.
Before her music career took off, Toupin worked as a horse riding instructor during her teenage years and also participated in a mission trip to the Dominican Republic where she discovered her passion for musical performance. In 2011, she co-founded Houndmouth in Louisville, Kentucky. Additionally, in 2014 she opened her own clothing store called Bermuda Highway in Louisville.
Toupin was raised alongside her bandmates in New Albany and credits her father for helping hone her singing and guitar skills.
