About Katie Moon
Katie Moon (born June 13, 1991) is an American pole vaulter hailing from Lakewood, Ohio. She gained recognition for her athletic achievements, including winning medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 World Athletics Championships, and 2023 World Athletics Championships.
Prior to her rise to fame as a pole vaulter, Moon attended Olmsted Falls High School where she participated in diving and gymnastics. She continued her education at Ashland University followed by the University of Dayton.
With over 110,000 followers on her ktnago13 Instagram page, Moon has cultivated a significant following due to her success in the sport. Notably in 2022, she received the USATF Wing Award for World Championship Field Performer.
Moon’s personal life includes family tragedy as well as joyous milestones. Her parents are Mark and Diane Nageotte; after losing her father to a heart attack, Moon’s mother raised Katie and her two siblings. In addition to overcoming this loss with resilience and determination throughout her sports career journey; having married Hugo in 2022 adds another chapter of happiness into Moon’s life story.
