About Katie Ashby
Katie Ashby (born March 25, 1978) is a British folk singer known for founding The D-Day Darlings, a vocal group that performs iconic World War II-era songs such as “We’ll Meet Again” and “Bless ‘Em All.” Ashby and her group gained nationwide recognition after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2018.
Prior to her music career, Ashby was active in various sports including gymnastics, skiing, and ice skating. She received training at The Mullen School Of Theatre in Morley.
Ashby has performed for veterans at RBL’s Festival Of Remembrance and co-created a 1940s-inspired children’s choir called The D-Day Juniors with fellow D-Day Darlings members. This initiative aims to inspire younger generations to remember those who fought for freedom during the war. The children’s group also appeared on series 14 of Britain’s Got Talent, performing the song she wrote for their audition titled “Pass It On.”
Coming from a family with ties to the British military, Ashby has three sisters. On April 8th, 2022 she welcomed a son named Grayson Charles.
