About Kathryn Joosten
Kathryn Joosten was an American television actress born on December 20, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois. She achieved fame for her portrayal of Karen McCluskey on the popular TV series Desperate Housewives from 2005 to 2012. Additionally, she played an incarnation of God in eight episodes of Joan of Arcadia and portrayed Mrs. Dixon in the Disney film Bedtime Stories.
Prior to her acting career, Joosten worked as a psychiatric nurse at Chicago’s Michael Reese Hospital.
She received two Emmy Awards for her role on Desperate Housewives and was married to a psychiatrist with whom she had two sons.
