About Katherine Rundell
Katherine Rundell, born on July 10, 1987 in Kent, England, is a renowned children’s author known for her breakout novel Rooftoppers. This book earned her the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal.
Rundell continued to solidify her status with acclaimed releases like The Explorer, which won the children’s book prize at the Costa Book Awards.
Before reaching literary fame, Rundell spent ten years of her childhood in Harare, Zimbabwe. At age fourteen, she and her family relocated to Brussels.
Notably, Rundell has had a lifelong fascination with heights and has actively engaged in tree climbing, roof walking and tightrope walking as part of this interest.
