Kate Schmidt (born December 29, 1953) is a former world record holder in the javelin throw from California. She won bronze in the javelin competition at both the 1972 Olympics in Munich and the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.
Before her athletic career, she graduated from UCLA. In 1994, she was inducted into the USATF National Track and Field Hall of Fame.
Schmidt grew up in Long Beach, California.
