About Kate Rusby
Kate Rusby is a well-known British folk singer born on December 4, 1973, in England. She gained prominence with her album “Awkward Annie” (2007) which ranked number two on the UK indie folk chart. Additionally, she achieved commercial success with the duet “All Over Again” alongside Ronan Keating reaching the top ten of UK singles charts.
Before gaining fame as a solo artist, Rusby was part of the Celtic band The Poozies and collaborated with friend Kathryn Roberts. Her debut solo album, “Hourglass,” was released in 1997. Notably, in 1999 she received a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize for her album “Sleepless” and also performed with Equation, a folk band.
Originally from Barnsley, England, Kate Rusby grew up in a musical family and later divorced Scottish musician John McCusker before marrying Northern Irish guitarist Damien O’Kane. Together they have daughters named Daisy and Phoebe.
