About Kate Reid
Kate Reid was born on November 4, 1930, in England. She was a renowned movie actress who portrayed iconic roles such as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Katharina in The Taming of the Shrew.
Reid’s early life saw her being born to Canadian parents in London. She attended Havergal College during high school before pursuing college education in London and later studying acting in Canada.
In recognition of her contributions, she was honored as Officer of the Order of Canada in 1974 and received Honorary degrees from York University (1970) and the University of Toronto (1989).
She married actor Austin Willis from 1953 until 1962 with whom she had two children.
