Kate Courtney, born on October 29, 1995 in San Francisco, California, is a professional mountain bike racer and Olympian. In 2018, she clinched the title of mountain bike world champion and followed it up with silver medals in 2019 and 2021. Representing Team USA Cycling Mountain Bike, she competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Prior to her fame, Kate grew up in Mount Tamalpais, renowned as the birthplace of mountain biking. Her passion for the sport led her to race for Branson High School’s mountain bike team and later at Stanford University where she studied human biology.
