About Kate Adie
Kate Adie is a renowned English reporter and chief news correspondent for BBC News. Born on September 19, 1945, in England, she rose to prominence as the first on the scene during the London Iranian Embassy siege in 1980 when the Special Air Service stormed the embassy. Prior to this event, she began her career by joining her first news team in 1976.
Aside from her reporting work, Adie has also made a name for herself as a radio host, presenting a program called From Our Own Correspondent on BBC Radio 4.
A native of Sunderland, England and adopted child of John and Maud Adie, Kate grew up surrounded by journalism before making significant contributions to it later in life.
