Kari Lizer is an American TV producer, born on August 26, 1961, in California. She is best known for her work as the producer and writer of the five-season, multi-Emmy-nominated sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine. Lizer has also made significant contributions to other television shows such as Will & Grace, Maggie Winters, and Benders.
Early in her career, Lizer wrote fourteen episodes of the USA Network series Weird Science. In addition to her behind-the-scenes work, she has also appeared as an actress in episodes of Quantum Leap, Matlock, The Van Dyke Show and guest-starred on five episodes of Will & Grace.
Lizer was born and raised in San Diego, California. She was married to fellow entertainer Robert Romanus with whom she had three children before their divorce.
