About Karen Steele
Karen Steele (March 20, 1931 – March 12, 1988) was a movie actress known for her roles in the 1950s features Marty and Ride Lonesome. She gained further recognition for portraying Eve McHuron in a 1966 episode of Star Trek.
Steele began her career as a model and then transitioned to acting with her first role being on the radio drama Let George Do It. She went on to guest star in popular television shows such as Maverick, The Alaskans, Perry Mason, and Flipper.
Born in Hawaii to Ruth Covey Merritt and Percy Davis Steele, she split her time between Honolulu and pursuing academic interests at universities before launching into entertainment. In later years, she married psychiatrist Maurice Boyd Ruland until succumbing to cancer.
