Karen Robinson is a British-Canadian film, television and stage actress best known for her role as Ronnie Lee in Schitt’s Creek. Born on February 29, 1968, in London, England, she has also appeared in TV series Mary Kills People and has had roles in films such as Narc and Lars and the Real Girl.
Before pursuing acting professionally, Robinson sang in choirs, acted in school plays and participated in poetry readings during her childhood. She later studied communication and theatre at Mount Royal College in Calgary before making her film debut in the 1994 movie Stalked.
In addition to her screen performances, Robinson has originated multiple roles on stage shows. One of notable mentions includes portraying the Portuguese slave Marie-Joseph Angelique in the play Angelique by Lorena Gale. She also has a recurring role on Hallmark Movie & Mystery Channel’s series Morning Show Mysteries.
Robinson was born in London but raised primarily Jamaica until moving to Canada with her family during her teenage years. In March 2020 she shared that she had lost both of cousin and cousin’s husband to COVID-19.
