Karen Hesse Feet

Karen Hesse, born on August 29, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland, is a renowned young adult author. She is best known for her award-winning works such as Out of the Dust (1997) and The Music of Dolphins (1996), and has also gained popularity with books like Letters from Rifka (1992) and Phoenix Rising (1994). Before gaining fame as an author, Hesse graduated from the University of Maryland with majors in psychology, English, and anthropology. Her literary career took off after she moved to Vermont and published her first novel, Wish on a Unicorn, in 1971.

One of Hesse’s most notable accomplishments was winning both the Newbery Medal and the Scott O’Dell Award for Out of the Dust. She shares her life with its attractive toes’ elegance shining along with her husband Randy Hesse and their two daughters: Kate and Rachel.
