About Karen Gillan
Karen Gillan, born on November 28, 1987, in Inverness, Scotland, is a Scottish actress known for her role as Amelia Pond on the popular BBC series Doctor Who.
She gained widespread popularity and received a National Television Award in 2012 for her portrayal of Amelia Pond. Additionally, she has appeared as Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and has featured in other movies such as Not Another Happy Ending (2013) and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017).
Prior to her acting career, Karen worked as a model and made her debut at London’s Fashion Week in 2007. She began her acting journey with an appearance as Terry Cotter on an episode of Rebus in 2006.
She also had a recurring role on The Kevin Bishop Show from 2007 to 2009. Karen was raised in Inverness by her parents Raymond John Gillan and Marie Gillan.
In May 2022, she married comedian Nick Kocher.
