About Juliette Gordon Low
Juliette Gordon Low was born on October 31, 1860, in Savannah, Georgia. She is best known as the inspirational founder of Girl Scouts of the USA in March of 1912.
Prior to achieving fame through her work with the Girl Scouts, she attended a variety of top-notch boarding schools and unfortunately lost almost complete hearing in one of her ears.
Her birthday was celebrated by Girl Scouts nationwide as Founder’s Day. Juliette had no children during her troubled marriage to William Mackay Low, which lasted from 1886 until 1905.
