Julie London was a jazz and pop singer who had an unforgettable voice. She shot to fame in 1955 with the hit song ‘Cry Me a River’, and went on to have a long career in film, including roles in The Wonderful Country. Born in San Bernadino, she moved to Hollywood at age 14 and quickly got into acting. Julie eventually became known as the “smoky husky” voice behind many hits!
In 1947, she married Jack Webb, but after their divorce seven years later, she tied the knot again with Bobby Troup on New Year’s Eve 1959. Another memorable moment of hers was covering Lorenz Hart’s classic song ‘Blue Moon’ in 1961.
