About Julia Kasdorf
Julia Kasdorf (born December 6, 1962) is a poet and essayist from Pennsylvania. She is known for her works including Eve’s Striptease and Sleeping Preacher. In 2009, she published a collection titled The Body and the Book: Writing a Mennonite Life.
Before gaining acclaim as an author, Kasdorf attended New York University and Goshen College. Her debut work, Sleeping Preacher, earned her the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize.
In 2004, Kasdorf received the Pushcart Prize in Poetry. She was born into a Mennonite family and grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
