About Judy Tenuta
Judy Tenuta was an American comedian born on November 7, 1949, in Oak Park, Illinois. She gained recognition for her work as an entertainer and actress, particularly through her appearances in Showtime and Lifetime specials. In 1994, she received a Grammy Award nomination for her comedy album “Attention Butt Pirates and Lesbetarians”. Throughout her career, she authored two comedy books.
Prior to achieving fame as a comedian, Tenuta studied dance at Alvin Ailey and the Martha Graham School.
She also had a guest role on the television show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. Tragically, Judy passed away at the age of 72 after battling ovarian cancer.
Judy was one of nine siblings who grew up in Oak Park, Illinois.
