About Judy Jiao
Judy Jiao, born on February 17, 1992, in Winnipeg, Canada, is a Canadian TV actress. She is best known for her role as Leia Chang on Degrassi: The Next Generation from 2008 to 2010 and Degrassi: Minis in 2009.
Prior to her acting career, Jiao began modeling in her early teens and was discovered by a film and television talent agent while attending a modeling convention in Canada. In an interesting turn of events, she left Degrassi to pursue an undergraduate psychology major at Harvard University’s Class of 2014.
Jiao comes from Chinese immigrant parents and was born with her younger brother Kirk in Winnipeg. Her mother later held an engineering professorship at the University of Toronto.
