Judy Collins is a folk singer born on May 1, 1939 in Seattle, Washington. She is best known for her sweet voice and her famous song “Both Sides Now”. Throughout her career, she has won Grammy Awards and received an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Degree from Pratt Institute.
Prior to gaining fame, Collins performed Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos at the age of thirteen. Her passion for music was sparked after hearing the works of Bob Seger and Woody Guthrie. Additionally, Collins is a notable social activist who has been sympathetic towards the Yippie movement.
In terms of family life, Collins married Peter Taylor in 1958 before divorcing in 1965. Subsequently, she remarried Louis Nelson on April 16th, 1996. From her first marriage with Taylor, she had a son named Clark.
