About Juana de Ibarbourou
Juana de Ibarbourou was a popular Uruguayan poet known for her work featuring nature imagery, feminism, and eroticism. She was born in Melo, Uruguay on March 8, 1892. Her notable literary works include Raiz salvaje, Oro y tormenta, and Obras completas.
She began her studies at the Jose Pedro Varela School in 1899. Throughout her career, she received numerous literary honors including the Order of the Quetzal and the Gold Medal of Francisco Pizarro.
Juana de Ibarbourou had one son named Julio with her husband Lucas Ibarbourou.
