Josephine Vander Gucht, born on April 5, 1990 in England, is a pop singer and one-half of the alt-pop duo Oh Wonder, where she performs alongside Anthony West. She has also released music as a solo artist under the stage name LAYLA.
Prior to her music career, Vander Gucht received classical training in vocals, piano, and violin. She holds an English Literature degree from the University of Bristol.
For trivia enthusiasts, it’s worth noting that her musical project with Anthony West was initially named Wonder Wonder.
Vander Gucht was raised in London and spent a year living in Canada before returning to England.
