About Jorie Graham
Jorie Graham is an American poet born on May 9, 1950 in New York. She is known for her notable achievements such as winning the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for The Dream of the Unified Field: Selected Poems 1974-1994, and writing other acclaimed works including San Sepolcro, Salmon, and Spoken from the Hedgerows.
Prior to gaining recognition as a poet, Graham pursued her education at New York University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
Additionally, she served as Chancellor of The Academy of American Poets during the late 1990s and early 2000s. In terms of personal life, she has been married multiple times – first to William Graham followed by James Galvin before marrying poet Peter M. Sacks in 2000.
