About Jonquel Jones
Jonquel Jones is a professional basketball player who was born on January 5, 1994, in Freeport, Bahamas. She gained recognition as a power forward and was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the first round of the 2016 draft. Jones added to her impressive career by playing for the Connecticut Sun and the New York Liberty. Additionally, she has taken her talents overseas to play professionally in Turkey, Russia, China, and South Korea.
Prior to her professional career, she began her collegiate basketball journey at Clemson University before transferring to George Washington University after two seasons. In 2021, following an outstanding WNBA season where she achieved All-WNBA First Team status and was named the WNBA MVP.
Jones originally hailed from the Bahamas but spent much of her upbringing in Maryland. At present, she resides with her girlfriend and their beloved pet dog.
