About Joi Harris
Joi Harris, born on December 11, 1977 in the United States, was a renowned stuntwoman and motorcycle racer. Notably, she made history as the first African-American woman to compete in AMA-sanctioned road racing events in 2014. Tragically, her career came to an abrupt end when she died while performing a stunt on the set of Deadpool 2 in August 2017.
Prior to gaining fame for her groundbreaking achievements in motorsports and stunts, Harris earned her Class M license in 2009 and later obtained her motorcycle racing license in May 2013. At the time of her passing, she was gaining valuable experience as a film stunt performer while doubling for Zazie Beetz’s character Domino.
Harris leaves behind a legacy marked by her pioneering contributions to both the world of motor racing and cinematic stunts. She was born and raised in the United States.
