About Joey Martin Feek
Joey Martin Feek was a country singer born on September 9, 1975, in Alexandria, Indiana. She is best known for her time as one half of the country singing duo Joey + Rory with her husband Rory Lee Feek. On March 4, 2016, after a two-year battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully with her husband by her side.
Prior to gaining fame as a musician, Joey’s first public performance took place during a talent show in first grade. Following high school graduation, she worked as a veterinarian’s assistant for three years before relocating to Nashville, Tennessee in 1998 to pursue her veterinary career.
In 2008, Joey and Rory finished third on the CMT reality competition series Can You Duet. The duo released their seventh and final studio album Hymns That Are Important to Us on February 12, 2016 – it debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart.
In addition to her musical accomplishments and personal battles with cancer, Joey married Rory in 2002 and gave birth to their daughter Indiana on February17th ,2014.
