About Joanne Rogers
Joanne Rogers (born March 9, 1928 in Jacksonville, Florida) is best known as the wife of Fred Rogers, who starred in the beloved TV series Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. She was also an inspiration for the show’s puppet character Queen Sara.
Prior to her fame on television, Joanne earned a master’s degree in music at Florida State University in Tallahassee and performed for nearly 40 years in a piano duo with her college friend Jeannine Morrison. She has two sons, James and John, and three grandsons.
