Joana Fomm is a Brazilian TV actress known for her roles in classic Brazilian cinema and television. Born on September 14, 1939, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, she has built a reputation for frequently being cast as the villain.
Fomm made her acting debut in 1962 in the movie “O Quinto Poder de Alberto Pieralisi” and ventured into television with “O Desconhecido” soap opera in 1964. Some of her notable works include portraying Livia in the 1968 movie “A Vida Provisoria” and Perpetua in the TV series “Tieta,” which premiered in 1989.
In recognition of her talent, Joana Fomm received numerous accolades throughout her career. In particular, she won the APCA Award for Best Actress on Television in 1978 and the Candango Award for Best Actress in 1990.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Fomm’s upbringing also holds significance. She was raised by her uncle after losing her mother and sister at a young age; later discovering she was adopted when she turned thirteen. Her father was journalist Artur Fomm. Personal life saw Joana marry and divorce five times but resulted in one child named Gabriel with writer Ricardo Gouveia.
