About Joan Sydney
Joan Sydney is an English-Australian actress born on September 5, 1936. With a career spanning over 40 years, she is best known for her work in the soap opera Neighbours and her performances on stage in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Prior to gaining fame, Joan had one of her first roles in a 1978 television movie. She later won a Silver Logie Award for Most Popular Actress in 1989 for her portrayal of Sloan in the television series A Country Practice.
Joan has a son named Tony, who went on to become CEO of Great Southern Rail.
