About Joan Rivers
Joan Rivers, born on June 8, 1933 in New York City, was a prominent television personality, actress, director and Oscar red carpet interviewer. She gained recognition for her work and earned a Daytime Emmy for hosting The Joan Rivers Show in 1990. From 1986 to 1987, she launched and hosted The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers.
Before rising to fame, Rivers worked as a tour guide, writer, proofreader and fashionista. In addition to her professional roles on TV shows such as Shrek 2 where an animated version of her briefly appeared.
Rivers married Edgar Rosenberg in 1965 and their daughter Melissa was born three years later in 1968.
