About Joan Lingard
Joan Lingard, born on January 15, 1932 in Scotland, is a renowned Young Adult Author. She gained fame for her bestselling Kevin and Sadie young adult series and also received the Buxtehuder Bulle prize for her work Across the Barricades. Additionally, her book Tug of War was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. She published her debut novel, Liam’s Daughter, in 1963 and ventured into children’s fiction with The Twelfth Day of July in 1970.
Lingard has also been recognized with awards such as the Scottish Arts Council’s Children’s Book Award for Tom and the Tree House. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, she married a Canadian citizen and raised three daughters.
