Joan Jett, born Joan Marie Larkin on September 22, 1958 in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, is a renowned rock singer. She gained fame as the lead singer of Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and earned the title of Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll with hits like “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll.” Before her rise to fame, she quit guitar lessons at 14 because she didn’t want to learn folk songs.
Jett’s band achieved success with their cover of “Crimson and Clover” and their debut album, Bad Reputation released in 1980. After her parents’ divorce, her family relocated to West Covina, California; it was then that she adopted her mother’s maiden name – Jett.
