Jo Squillo (born June 22, 1962) is an Italian singer-songwriter, presenter, and activist who gained popularity after releasing the 1991 song “Siamo Donne” with Italian singer Sabrina Salerno. She has written music in genres ranging from punk rock to dance-pop and is an activist for the feminism and ecologism movements.
Before her fame, Jo’s first experience in the music industry was in 1980 as a member of the female punk rock band Kandeggina Gang. She is known as one of the most popular showgirls in Italy and also enjoys DJing.
Jo Squillo’s real name is Giovanna Coletti. She hails from Milan, Italy where she was born to Aldo and Giovanna Coletti. Jo Squillo has a twin sister named Paola.
