About Jo Shapcott
Jo Shapcott (born March 24, 1953) is a British poet and professor known for winning the National Poetry Competition twice. She was born in London, England and attended Trinity College, Dublin and Harvard University before publishing her debut poetry collection Electroplating the Baby in 1988. Some of her best-known works include My Life Asleep, Electroplating the Baby, and Of Mutability. In 2010, she received the prestigious Costa Book of the Year Award for her poetry collection entitled Of Mutability.
In her youth, she studied at Cavendish School.
