About Jo Andres
Jo Andres (born May 21, 1954) is an American filmmaker, choreographer, and editor known for her work on several feature films. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she first gained recognition within the New York performance art scene of the 1980s with performances at venues such as the Performing Garage and La Mama Experimental Theater.
In 1992, she transitioned to film editing with her work on “What Happened to Pete” and later worked as a choreographer on “The Imposters.” In 2000, she made her directorial debut with the film “Lillian Kiesler: On the Head of a Pin.”
Andres has completed artist residencies at prestigious art colonies and museums such as Yaddo and the Rockefeller Study Center in Bellagio, Italy. She married actor Steve Buscemi in 1987, and they have a son named Lucian.
