About Jewell Loyd
Jewell Loyd (born October 5, 1993) is a professional basketball player from Lincolnwood, Illinois. She was drafted by the Seattle Storm as a first round pick in 2015 and was named the 2015 WNBA Rookie of the Year after her debut season. Loyd has also played professionally in Spain, Turkey, China and South Korea.
Prior to being drafted into the WNBA, Loyd played college basketball at the University of Notre Dame where she was named ACC Player of the Year following her senior season.
In 2018, she won her first WNBA championship after three years in the league and also earned selection as a WNBA All-Star that same season. Growing up, Loyd lived with her family in Lincolnwood and has one sibling.
