About Jes Baker
Jes Baker, also known as The Militant Baker, is a body-positive blogger and mental health advocate born on August 7th, 1986 in the United States. She is best known for her food, feminist, and lifestyle blog and has become a prolific writer and author. In 2012, she was inspired to start blogging after reading The Nearsighted Owl blog. Prior to her blogging career, Baker worked as a pastry chef and a mental health educator and rehabilitation specialist.
Baker has authored the essay collection “Things No One Will Tell Fat Girls: A Handbook for Unapologetic Living.” In addition to her writing pursuits, she founded the Body Love Conference held in Arizona in 2014.
She was born into a large Mormon family as the eldest daughter.
