Ellsworth first gained attention for her invention of the C64 Direct-to-TV, a joystick capable of playing games from the Commodore 64. She began learning how to program on her family’s Commodore 64 computer before starting a small chain of computer stores called Computers Made Easy.
Notably, she has a background in dirt-track car racing and later started creating custom cars in her father’s workshop. Her business success led her to drop out of high school to focus on it full-time during her teens.
